Are You Ready for the Perfect Wedding?

I hope you are having a good week.

This past Sunday I preached a message on the Parable of the Ten Virgins from Matthew 25:1-13. The message explored the concept of readiness for Christ's return, likening it to preparation for a perfect wedding. It emphasized the importance of constant spiritual preparedness and the individual responsibility we have in maintaining our relationship with God.

Takeaways:
Spiritual readiness cannot be shared or passed on; it's an individual responsibility.
Our "oil" represents our burning passion for God's presence, our desire to know Him intimately, and our commitment to do His will.
Perseverance in faith, despite challenges, is crucial for being ready when Christ returns.

The message served as a powerful reminder that while we may not know the day or hour of Christ's return, we are called to live in a state of constant readiness. This involves actively engaging in our faith through prayer, Bible study, service, and maintaining a close relationship with God.

Let's take this week to reflect on our own spiritual preparedness. Are there areas in our lives where we need to "refill our oil"? How can we cultivate a deeper passion for God's presence?

May we all be found ready and waiting with joy for our perfect bridegroom.

¿Estás listo para la boda perfecta?

Hola,

Espero que estés teniendo una buena semana.

El domingo pasado prediqué un mensaje sobre la Parábola de las Diez Vírgenes de Mateo 25:1-13. El mensaje exploró el concepto de estar listos para el regreso de Cristo, comparándolo con la preparación para una boda perfecta. Se enfatizó la importancia de la preparación espiritual constante y la responsabilidad individual que tenemos de mantener nuestra relación con Dios.

Puntos clave:

  • La preparación espiritual no se puede compartir ni transferir; es una responsabilidad individual.
  • Nuestro "aceite" representa nuestra pasión ardiente por la presencia de Dios, nuestro deseo de conocerlo íntimamente y nuestro compromiso de hacer Su voluntad.
  • La perseverancia en la fe, a pesar de los desafíos, es crucial para estar listos cuando Cristo regrese.

El mensaje sirvió como un poderoso recordatorio de que, si bien no sabemos el día ni la hora del regreso de Cristo, estamos llamados a vivir en un estado de constante preparación. Esto implica participar activamente en nuestra fe a través de la oración, el estudio de la Biblia, el servicio y el mantenimiento de una relación cercana con Dios.

Dediquemos esta semana a reflexionar sobre nuestra propia preparación espiritual. ¿Hay áreas en nuestras vidas donde necesitamos "rellenar nuestro aceite"? ¿Cómo podemos cultivar una pasión más profunda por la presencia de Dios?

Que todos seamos hallados listos y esperando con alegría a nuestro perfecto novio.

All-Church “Day of the Nations” Lunch

All are invited to join in this special lunch in celebration of Day of the Nations, inspired by National Hispanic Heritage Month. Lunch will begin at approximately 12:30 pm when English Sunday School and the Spanish worship service ends. Bring a dish to share from your native state or country and label it somehow so each dish is identified for us.

Todos están invitados a unirse a este almuerzo especial en celebración del Día de las Naciones, inspirado por el Mes de la Herencia Hispana. El almuerzo comenzará aproximadamente a las 12:30 p.m., al terminar la Escuela Dominical en inglés y el servicio de adoración en español. Por favor, trae un platillo para compartir de tu estado o país de origen y etiquétalo de alguna manera para que podamos identificarlo.
