A Moment from Sunday

What a privilege it was to gather together and celebrate the greatest miracle in human history—Christ's victory over death.

Mary Magdalene and the other Mary walked toward Jesus' tomb expecting to find death, only to discover life. And just as they had to "take a second look" at their circumstances, we are reminded that because of Christ's resurrection, we can look again at our darkest situations with divine assurance.

The sermon challenged us to recognize that even when our circumstances seem hopeless—whether in health, finances, relationships, or ministry—the empty tomb declares that the night did not win. The dawn has broken in, and God's work of renewal is just beginning. We are called not just to celebrate the resurrection, but to be witnesses to this new dawn, proclaiming hope where others only see death.

Takeaways:

Show up even when it feels hopeless. Mary and Mary knew they would find a dead body, yet they still went to the tomb. Their resilience teaches us to keep showing up—to church, to service, to love, to forgiveness—even when we don't feel like it and even when we can't see how things will improve.
Take a second look at your circumstances through the lens of resurrection. What appears to be headed toward death may actually be on the verge of new life. Because Christ is risen, we can face uncertain health diagnoses, financial struggles, relational brokenness, and ministry challenges knowing that "in the end, those with Him win."
Don't just admire the resurrection—proclaim it. The women couldn't stay at the empty tomb; they were commissioned to go and tell. The resurrection is not the end of the story but the beginning of God's work of renewal. We are called to join this mission, spreading the light of Christ into the darkest places of our world.

As we move forward from Easter Sunday, may we carry the hope of the empty tomb into every area of our lives. Whatever darkness you're facing today, give yourself permission to look again. He is not there. He is risen. And because He lives, you can face tomorrow with confidence.

Christ is risen!

Qué privilegio fue reunirnos y celebrar el milagro más grande de la historia de la humanidad: la victoria de Cristo sobre la muerte.

María Magdalena y la otra María caminaron hacia la tumba de Jesús esperando encontrar muerte, solo para descubrir vida. Y así como ellas tuvieron que "mirar por segunda vez" a sus circunstancias, se nos recuerda que, debido a la resurrección de Cristo, podemos mirar de nuevo nuestras situaciones más oscuras con seguridad divina.

El sermón nos desafió a reconocer que incluso cuando nuestras circunstancias parecen desesperanzadoras —ya sea en la salud, las finanzas, las relaciones o el ministerio— la tumba vacía declara que la noche no ganó. El amanecer ha irrumpido, y la obra de renovación de Dios apenas comienza. Estamos llamados no solo a celebrar la resurrección, sino a ser testigos de este nuevo amanecer, proclamando esperanza donde otros solo ven muerte.

Preséntate incluso cuando te sientas desesperanzado. María y María sabían que encontrarían un cuerpo muerto; sin embargo, fueron a la tumba. Su resiliencia nos enseña a seguir presentándonos —a la iglesia, al servicio, al amor, al perdón— incluso cuando no tenemos ganas e incluso cuando no podemos ver cómo mejorarán las cosas.

Mira tus circunstancias por segunda vez a través del lente de la resurrección. Lo que parece dirigirse hacia la muerte puede estar, en realidad, al borde de una nueva vida. Debido a que Cristo ha resucitado, podemos enfrentar diagnósticos de salud inciertos, luchas financieras, rupturas relacionales y desafíos ministeriales sabiendo que "al final, los que están con Él ganan".

No te limites a admirar la resurrección: proclámala. Las mujeres no podían quedarse en la tumba vacía; se les comisionó ir y contar. La resurrección no es el final de la historia, sino el comienzo de la obra de renovación de Dios. Estamos llamados a unirnos a esta misión, extendiendo la luz de Cristo a los lugares más oscuros de nuestro mundo.

Al avanzar desde el Domingo de Resurrección, que podamos llevar la esperanza de la tumba vacía a cada área de nuestras vidas. Cualquiera que sea la oscuridad que enfrentes hoy, date permiso para mirar de nuevo. Él no está allí. Él ha resucitado. Y porque Él vive, puedes enfrentar el mañana con confianza.

¡Cristo ha resucitado! ¡En verdad ha resucitado!
