Rebuilding with Faith: Lessons from Nehemiah
Hello Church,
I hope you are having a great week.
This past Sunday I started a new series in the book of Nehemiah. We looked at the first two chapters. We looked at Nehemiah's calling, his response to bad news, and God's faithfulness.
The sermon highlighted the importance of intercessory prayer, repentance, and taking action in response to God's favor. It emphasized how these principles apply to our lives today, particularly in loving and rebuilding the church.
- The power of intercession: Nehemiah's example reminds us of the need for persistent, heartfelt prayer for our church and community.
- The necessity of repentance: When faced with challenges, we must be willing to examine ourselves, confess our sins, and seek God's forgiveness.
- God's favor leads to action: When God grants us favor, it's an invitation to participate in His work, requiring our deliberate obedience and effort.
As we continue this series, I encourage you to read through the book of Nehemiah. Let's reflect on how we can apply these lessons to our own lives and our church community. How can we intercede more fervently? Where do we need to repent? And how is God calling us to act on His favor?
May we, like Nehemiah, have the courage to say, "Let us start rebuilding" in whatever areas of our lives and church that need God's restorative touch.
Blessings,
^PJ
