Embracing Generosity: Reflections on Sunday's Sermon

Dear Church Family,

I hope this email finds you well. I am grateful for the opportunity God gives us each week to come together, worship, and hear God's word.

On Sunday we explored the biblical concept of generosity, focusing on 2 Corinthians 9. We learned that generosity is not just about giving to receive, but about giving because we have already received abundantly from God. The message highlighted how generosity is a spiritual discipline that benefits the giver, strengthens the church, and glorifies God.

Takeaways:
  • Generosity is a reflection of God's character and should be a hallmark of every Christian's life.
  • We are called to give intentionally and joyfully, not out of obligation or guilt.
  • Our giving should be planned and proportional to what we have received, but also open to spontaneous acts of generosity as the Holy Spirit leads.

Abrazando la Generosidad: Reflexiones sobre el Sermón del Domingo

Querida Iglesia:

Espero que este correo les encuentre bien. Estoy agradecido por la oportunidad que Dios nos da cada semana de reunirnos, adorar y escuchar la palabra de Dios.

El domingo pasado exploramos el concepto bíblico de la generosidad, centrándonos en 2 Corintios 9. Aprendimos que la generosidad no es solo dar para recibir, sino dar porque ya hemos recibido abundantemente de Dios. El mensaje destacó cómo la generosidad es una disciplina espiritual que beneficia al dador, fortalece a la iglesia y glorifica a Dios.

Puntos Clave:

  • La generosidad es un reflejo del carácter de Dios y debe ser una característica distintiva de la vida de todo cristiano.
  • Estamos llamados a dar con intención y alegría, no por obligación ni por culpa.
  • Nuestra ofrenda debe ser planeada y proporcional a lo que hemos recibido, pero también abierta a actos espontáneos de generosidad según nos guíe el Espíritu Santo.

A medida que avanzamos en esta semana, consideremos cómo podemos aplicar estos principios de generosidad en nuestra vida diaria. Ya sea a través de nuestras finanzas, tiempo o talentos, todos hemos sido bendecidos para ser una bendición para los demás.

Que Dios continúe obrando en y a través de nosotros mientras buscamos honrarlo con nuestros recursos y nuestras vidas.

Women’s Revelation Bible Study
Wednesdays | 6:45 pm 
All women are welcome to join in the Café Classroom on Wednesday nights as we begin a new Bible study, Revelation: The Triumph of God by R. Paul Stevens. In every age people have felt sure that the book of Revelation described events in their time. Amid the uncertainties of our world today, Revelation assures us of the triumph of God.

Todos los miércoles nos reunimos para adorar y tener un tiempo de oración. Después conversamos acerca del sermon mas reciente y aprendemos de la palabra de Dios juntos. Nunca falta el tiempo de convivencia al terminar. Te esperamos!

Men's Bible Study
Wednesdays | 6:45 pm 
Men, come connect and grow with us as we journey through God's word. We'll explore its rich teachings, challenge each other, and strengthen our walk with Christ.

Youth Group
Wednesdays | 6:45 pm 
Join us every Wednesday for an awesome night. We kick things off in the gym for some games and a chance to burn off some energy, and then we come together to dive into God's word and talk about real life.

Family Promise
Sunday-Sunday | October 5-12
Our week for helping homeless families in the community to break the cycle of homelessness begins Sunday, October 5. If you have considered providing an evening meal, staying overnight as a chaperone, fellowship (visit with families & entertain kids), or helping in some other way, please check with Cindy Higbee to see if there are any spots that still need to be filled.

Help is also needed for set-up on Saturday, October 4 at 1:00 pm, and after church on Sunday, October 5, and clean-up early Sunday morning, October 12.
